— For ecommerce

Catalog work,
without the catalog cost

Strip backgrounds for Amazon, Etsy, Shopify, eBay, and Walmart listings without subscribing to a SaaS that charges per image. Free for single shots, $3/month for bulk and API.

— Why ecommerce use inkurs

Inkurs replaces the $30+/month background-remover subscription that ecommerce teams quietly pay. The free tier handles one-off product shots for new SKU launches; Pro at $3/month adds the bulk processing and API access that catalog teams need to run hundreds of products a month.

01 / What's hard

The real pain
of background work.

— 01

The marketplace background problem

Amazon and Walmart require pure white #FFFFFF on main images. Etsy and Shopify are flexible. Your DSLR or phone shoot was on cream paper or a colored backdrop. Manual editing per SKU eats hours.

— 02

The platform tax

Removebg, Photoroom, and Pixelcut all charge $10–$25/month, often per-image at scale. For a 200-SKU brand, that's a recurring cost without proportional value — the actual processing is commodity.

— 03

The 'good enough' edge problem

Generic removers blow out jewelry chains, eat into fabric texture, and leave halos on reflective metal. Inkurs holds up because the model is tuned for product photography.

— 04

The privacy concern

Most ecommerce sellers upload their best-shot product photos. Some background-removers store and train on those. Inkurs deletes within 60 seconds — your launch products don't end up training someone else's AI.

02 / Workflow

How ecommerce
actually use it.

— 01

Solo merchants

A handful of SKUs, photographed at home or in a studio. Drop each shot into inkurs free tier. Done in seconds, no subscription, no signup, no upsell.

— 02

Growing brands

20–200 SKUs being added monthly. Pro batch upload (up to 50 at once) handles the volume. Drag a folder in, get a ZIP back.

— 03

Catalog teams

1000+ SKUs, photographer + editor pipeline. API integration plugs inkurs directly into your DAM, Shopify, or PIM. Pro pricing scales without per-image gouging.

— Common questions

FAQ.

Does inkurs work with Shopify, BigCommerce, and WooCommerce?
Yes — inkurs outputs transparent PNG that uploads directly into any ecommerce platform's product image manager. Pro will ship a Shopify app for direct workflow integration; for now, process in inkurs and upload to your platform.
What about brand consistency across hundreds of SKUs?
Inkurs uses the same model and output spec for every image, so cutouts have identical edge treatment across an entire catalog. Visual consistency is automatic once you commit to the same background style across the catalog.
Can the API handle production catalog traffic?
Pro API launches with rate limits suitable for typical ecommerce catalog work (thousands of images per day). For very high volumes (10K+ per day), email hello@inkurs.com for a custom pipeline arrangement.
Is inkurs really free with no signup?
Inkurs is free for single-image use with no account, no email, no watermark, and no daily limit. Pro at $3/month adds bulk uploads and API access. The single-image tool stays free, forever.
Do you store or train on my uploaded images?
Inkurs deletes both the uploaded file and the processed output from its servers within 60 seconds of your download. We do not train AI models on user images, share data with advertisers, or retain copies. Privacy policy →
What image formats and sizes does inkurs accept?
Inkurs accepts PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC, and BMP files up to 20MB on the free tier. Output is a transparent PNG by default; WEBP is also available. Pro extends the file size cap and adds 8K output.
How does inkurs compare to removebg and Photoroom?
Inkurs gives full HD output free with no signup, while removebg gates HD behind a paid account ($9.99/mo) and Photoroom requires signup for most features ($12.99/mo). Inkurs Pro is $3/month flat. Detailed comparison →
Who builds and operates inkurs?
Inkurs is built and operated by brnd.ink, a brand identity studio with offices in Delhi, India and New York, USA. We made inkurs because we use background removal daily for client work. About →
