01 / What's hard

The real pain
of background work.

— 01

Thumbnails need transparent subjects

YouTube thumbnails almost universally feature a cutout subject overlaid on a designed background. Same for Instagram carousels and Pinterest pins. Inkurs is the fastest path.

— 02

Phone photos are the source material

Creators shoot on phones and pull from their camera roll. Inkurs handles iPhone HEIC, Android JPG, and phone screenshots equally well.

— 03

Brand-deal asset prep

Creators doing sponsored content need cutout product shots that match the brand's main marketplace listing style. Inkurs delivers consistent transparent PNGs.

— 04

Free tier covers most creators

Most creators don't process bulk. The free single-image tool handles 90% of needs without any subscription.

02 / Workflow

How social media creators
actually use it.

— 01

Quick thumbnail edits

— 02

Carousel and reel assets

Multiple subjects across a single Instagram carousel. Pro bulk handles in one upload for cohesive design.

— 03

Brand-deal product shots

Sponsored product needs marketplace-style transparent PNG for posts. Inkurs delivers it.

— Common questions

FAQ.

Will it work on TikTok screenshots and iPhone photos?
Yes — HEIC from iPhone and screenshots from Android both work without conversion, up to 20MB. The model handles social media source material as well as professional photography.
Is there a Canva or CapCut integration?
Not yet — Canva has its own paid background remover, and CapCut handles transparency natively. For now: process in inkurs, then drop the transparent PNG into your Canva or CapCut workflow.
Can I cut out myself from a video frame?
Take a screenshot of the video frame and upload that — inkurs handles still images. Direct video cutout is a different category of tool (Runway, Kapwing, etc.) and not on our roadmap.
Is inkurs really free with no signup?
Inkurs is free for single-image use with no account, no email, no watermark, and no daily limit. Pro at $3/month adds bulk uploads and API access. The single-image tool stays free, forever.
Do you store or train on my uploaded images?
Inkurs deletes both the uploaded file and the processed output from its servers within 60 seconds of your download. We do not train AI models on user images, share data with advertisers, or retain copies. Privacy policy →
What image formats and sizes does inkurs accept?
Inkurs accepts PNG, JPG, WEBP, HEIC, and BMP files up to 20MB on the free tier. Output is a transparent PNG by default; WEBP is also available. Pro extends the file size cap and adds 8K output.
How does inkurs compare to removebg and Photoroom?
Inkurs gives full HD output free with no signup, while removebg gates HD behind a paid account ($9.99/mo) and Photoroom requires signup for most features ($12.99/mo). Inkurs Pro is $3/month flat. Detailed comparison →
Who builds and operates inkurs?
Inkurs is built and operated by brnd.ink, a brand identity studio with offices in Delhi, India and New York, USA. We made inkurs because we use background removal daily for client work. About →
